The Land – A Celebration of Nature, Nourishment, and Innovation

Spanning six breathtaking acres beneath a shimmering canopy of glass and steel, The Land pavilion at EPCOT Center—presented by Kraft—stands as a vibrant tribute to humanity's relationship with the Earth. Situated in the center of Future World, this innovative pavilion explores how we produce, preserve, and distribute the food that feeds the world by fusing science, narrative, and sensory experiences.

Guests are invited to chart their own course through four unique experiences within the pavilion. The journey often begins aboard Listen to the Land, a serene and educational boat ride that winds through dramatic scenes of seed germination, diverse global ecosystems, and the evolution of American agriculture. The ride culminates in a series of lush, futuristic greenhouses—alive with real plants and aquatic life—where innovative growing techniques such as hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaculture are demonstrated in dazzling, real-time displays of possibility. Guests curious about the science behind the scenes can join the Tomorrow's Harvest Tour, a guided walk through the growing systems area, developed in collaboration with researchers from the University of Arizona.

At the center of the pavilion, the inviting Farmers Market food court offers a taste of tradition with a variety of wholesome meals and snacks. Designed like a small-town plaza under a sky of floating, food group-themed hot-air balloons, this area evokes a sense of communal gathering and nutritional abundance. The on-site bakery's sweet aromas add an extra layer of warmth and sensory delight to the experience.

Just beyond, the Harvest Theater showcases Symbiosis, a powerful 18-minute widescreen film exploring the delicate balance between technological progress and environmental stewardship. With scenes filmed around the world—from the rice terraces of the Philippines to reclaimed rivers and lakes in Europe—the film reminds guests of both our responsibilities and our capacity for renewal.

Adding a dash of whimsy and humor, the Kitchen Kabaret uses Disney's beloved Audio-Animatronics to bring the food pyramid to life in a toe-tapping, vaudeville-style revue. Hosted by the charming Bonnie Appetit, the show features a delightful cast of singing, dancing foods—like Mr. Dairy Goods, Miss Yogurt, and the comedic Hamm & Eggz—who teach the importance of balanced nutrition in a way that's as informative as it is unforgettable.

Beyond the fun and flavor, The Land communicates a powerful message of hope. Through thoughtful design, scientific partnerships, and engaging entertainment, the pavilion demonstrates how imaginative and responsible use of natural resources can help meet the food needs of a growing world. In keeping with EPCOT Center's original mission—that human ingenuity and collaboration can create a better future for everybody—Kraft's sponsorship demonstrates a dedication to sustainability and healthy eating.

The Land is a happy reminder that development, maintenance, and ingenuity can produce a world full of promise, whether you're marveling at floating gardens, laughing with musical vegetables, or just munching on a snack under a sky full of vibrant balloons.
